BEING SPONTANEOUS

I stared at the upper right hand corner of the screen. 3:54 pm. Dang. What am I going to cook for dinner…?

3:55 pm. Incoming message from Jake. “Rockies game tonight. Get ready and pack up Lila. I’ll be home early.” Yippee!! Not only were we going to have a fun little night out, I don’t have to cook dinner? Count me in!

I immediately begin thinking of sitting at the game with a tiny person squirming allll night on our laps…

Huh… Invite Grandma and Grandpa?! Yep! Now, armed with 4 laps for her to stay entertained on we were set!

With a tiny person, a bag full of tiny people things, a backpack to carry the tiny person in, the tiny person, the mama, the papa, the grandma and the grandpa, a rain delay, greasy fries, beer, hot dogs, cinnamon tornadoes… You can now see why we decide to only have the phone and point and shoot cameras.

Enjoy our night out through the world of our terrible cameras. 🙂 We sure did!

Notice the giant lump under the rain tarp up there? One of the grounds crew guys got slightly mauled by the tarp when they were unrolling it. So the other guys trapped him under there for a bit. He did make it out okay. I am sure it was all in good fun. The crowd sure did get a kick out of it!

Angie - So cute! Ya know all most of us have is point and shoot *hee hee*
Just so ya know…your family is just too perfectly cute!

Katie, you are stunning. Really, you look amazing. You glow, you shine, you exude the love of a mother… I am so excited to see you and Chris on your new journey in life. I hope you look back on these images of yourselves in this season of life and hope you remember and cherish the love and joy you felt carrying your beautiful little girl. Your heart will swell with love more than you could ever imagine in these next few weeks as you prepare for her to enter into your world. I can’t wait to see you shine!

I feel blessed to have been a small piece of your journey to capture your love. Thank you! Congratulations to you and your families. She will be so very treasured!

THINGS I LOVE | IKEA

Ikea. Yes… I Love You.

1084 round trip miles of love. 16 hours and 52 minutes of driving time worth of love.

The story went a little something like this…

  • Me: “What are your plans for this weekend?”
  • Jake: “My plans? Nothing, I don’t think. Why??”
  • Me: “Want to go to Ikea to get cool furniture for the new house?!!!??”
  • Jake: Um, where is there an Ikea?”
  • Me: “Utah!!! Come on, it’s not thaaaaaaat far.”
  • Jake: “8.5 hours away??!! Are you serious? You are serious aren’t you??!”
  • Me: 🙂

We packed up and we left for Fort Collins at 2 am on Friday night. We dropped of the pup at my parents and then picked up my brother. I mean, we had to leave then. The U-haul trailer rental place closed at noon, and we needed a trailer with the shopping I was planning on doing!

Yes, I am serious. We drove to Draper, Utah to shop. (And our house looks great now, by the way) This is a kind of love that runs deep. And I am thrilled to say today Ikea announced they will be opening there doors on July 27th, 2011!!

Yippee, Hooray!

Maybe now we can stop always having to stop into Ikea on vacations… Maybe now we can not have to figure out how to package a rocking chair to be considered a carry on, on the plane… Maybe now we can never have to drive 16, almost 17 hours to have cool looking furniture (again)… Maybe now we can stop being ‘those people’ who act like the have never seen an Ikea before… ‘Those people” who take pictures of themselves outside of the doors, and redo it because the sign wasn’t in the first picture… Maybe… Maybe not. 🙂
